And! The Saturday prior to the show — that’d be December 26 — we will have a guest DJ set from Mr. Marty Beller (pictured, about to become phenomenally wealthy, no doubt) They Might Be Giants’s drummer extraordinaire!
Tickets for the show are available at IHEG.com with a family-four pack special for advance purchase only.
We had a great time with Bill Harley’s show at the Iron Horse, with a good sized crowd despite being opposite a Patriots game. I didn’t get any great pictures of Bill, but here’s one anyway:
Couldn’t resist announcing one more act — I will try to hold back on the rest for a little while (though I’m thisclose to telling you one of the authors). The second act announced for the 2010 Meltdown is Dog on Fleas.
If you head over to our audio/video page (which you should do regardless), you can listen to audio of Dog on Fleas’ visit to the studio last year. And here’s a fun video featuring both Dog on Fleas and Elizabeth Mitchell (along with various other folks):
Will they play anything together at the Meltdown? I guess we’ll have to wait to find out…
I’ll take my time announcing the full lineup for the Meltdown 2010 (March 27, 2010, JFK Middle School), but since it’s in her newsletter, I will go ahead and announce that Elizabeth Mitchell & Friends will be in the lineup. (They’re also doing a show at the Eric Carle Museum on February 6 benefiting the Northampton Community Music Center.)
And it’s gonna be a great lineup on both the music and book sides. Visit RiverMeltdown.com to see last year’s lineup. It will again be an all-day affair (10-4) with great music, readings from children’s book authors, activities, local food, local businesses, and so much more.
More to come! To tide you over, here’s video from their show last year:
