This unique collection of songs is filled with uplifting messages from some of today\u2019s very best family musicians.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"Many Hands Cover\" src=\"http:\/\/sparetherock.com\/manyhandscover.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"224\" \/>After the January 12th, 2010 earthquake that destroyed much of the Haitian capital, family musician Dean Jones (<a href=\"http:\/\/dogonfleas.com\">Dog on Fleas<\/a>) found himself feeling helpless and desperately wanting to help the people of Haiti. Having close friends in Haiti and feeling a deep love and respect for the music from the region, Jones felt the need to create something that could help the ongoing rebuilding effort.<\/p>\n<p>The idea for\u00a0Many Hands\u00a0came to him in the middle of the night and the very next day several of his fellow family musicians signed on. \u201cWhen I had the idea for the\u00a0Many Hands\u00a0CD, I knew without a doubt that I could count on the big-hearted kindie community.\u201d said Jones. \u201cThe generosity and the amazing work of all the musicians and everyone involved definitely exceeded my initial expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>[pullshow]Almost all of the tracks on the album are previously unreleased, most of them recorded especially for this release. Its long and often painful history was recently compounded by the 2009 earthquake that destroyed much of the capital city Port-au-Prince.\u00a0 Images of the devastation we have seen on the news will haunt us.\u00a0 For people with a personal connection to Haiti and its culture, there is a strong desire to restore the core of this very special culture.\u00a0 It will be a long road to recovery.<\/p>\n<p>While the recent destruction in Haiti is fresh in my mind, it\u2019s the warmth, beauty and generosity of the Haitian people that I have met that is the inspiration for this CD.\u00a0 The idea came to me in a flash in the middle of the night.\u00a0 And the very next day eight of the artists on this CD offered, with no hesitation, to record tracks!\u00a0 Everyone involved in this project gladly donated their time and efforts, with many of the musicians writing and recording brand new songs just for Many Hands.\u00a0 I could not have created this CD without the generosity and talent of these amazing musicians and artists.\u00a0 Also, a big thanks to Bill Childs for creating a record company to bring this CD to life!\u00a0 Lastly, thank you for buying Many Hands.\u00a0 I sincerely hope you enjoy listening to a CD that is part of rebuilding Haiti.<\/p>\n<p>If you wish to do more, please consider donating to the Haitian People\u2019s Support Project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Dean Jones, Producer<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to, first and foremost, the Haitian People\u2019s Support Project for their tireless work in Haiti.
