Oh, hey, this week.

New music from Laurie Berkner, Me 3, Peter Rundquist, and Egg.

Plus, if I can figure out a kid-friendly song, some Dr. Dog. Love that CD.

Which Dr. Dog record are you working from? Check out "California" from their EP "Takers and Leavers". My oldest (4 yr old) loved that one when the disc first came out. You can listen to it on their site:

Oh, Dr. Dog is on Conan O'Brien tonight playing their single from their newest album "Fate" which is out next week.

I love those dudes...they're Philly's hometown rock heroes.

All I have is "We All Belong," bought on a whim the other day along with the new Old 97's. Will try to check out California.

Dr. Dog hasn't done much for me, but I've heard the Old '97s disk is a return to form... true?

Haven't listened enough to be definitive, but certainly the first couple of times through, I think that's fair.

Stefan, a lot of folks feel that way about Dr. Dog. They are so lo-fi and sloppy sounding on record...it turns people off. If you get the chance to catch them live, try to do so. They're great, lots of energy.

As far as We All Belong...I say the opening track "Old News"

The sloppiness works for me, but I've been rather into Pernice Brothers and the like lately too.

"Old News" -- good song, but the "hell" probably precludes it from being on the show...

Dr. Dog!!!

"Ain't it strange," stirs it up for me! Amazing, amazing lyrics. They work hard, along the lines of the Elephant Six folks to create the nostalgic sound of their discs. They had an article in a recent Tape Op that's worth checking out :)
