The Big News...

Starting on either February 9 or February 16, we're going to be on local station The River, from 7 to 9 in the morning on Saturday mornings. We'll still (at least for now) be on Valley Free Radio as well, from 8 to 10, with the same show (sans ads).

The River is a great station in the format generally known as "AAA" ("Adult Album Alternative"), though I think they're significantly more eclectic than average for that format. They play a good amount of local music, support local merchants, and generally seem like friendly folks. The studios they have a super modern, as you might expect, and so we can hopefully do a better job sound-wise with visiting musicians.

They haven't asked us to do anything significantly different, except that there will be ads. But I think it'll be well worth it, given the fact that we're going from a station with about a ten-mile broadcast radius to one that broadcasts from Vermont to Connecticut, with all of western Massachusetts in the middle (check out the signal map!).

As you might have guessed from the schedule, we will be pre-recording the show now, though we'll be doing it "live to tape" (well, live to digital audio), so hopefully it won't sound pre-recorded. We're doing one test run this weekend, and if it comes out well, they'll air it next Saturday; if not, we'll be on the following week.

Whee!

Oh, and also, what do you think of the new tag line up top there? "Indie music for indie kids." You like?

Hooray! Ever since we've moved north, we've had to stream the show with the laptop. It's going to be great to just turn on the radio and listen again. The River is lucky to have you!

Bill -

I hope that now that you're getting so big you'll still remain in touch with all of the little people. However, I'm not quite sure seeing that I tried to contact you today and was passed on to your secretary's secretary's assistant who answered, "Childs Mega Media....oh, I'm sorry, but Mr. Childs is in the middle of his third interview now and probably won't be able to speak until after his photo shoot and lunch with Hillary."

Congratulations!
