I like the MN Parent article, Bill, though I would hazard a guess that most people outside of the Chicago area don't know Ella Jenkins...
Really? In CA, I grew up singing "This a way That a way" and "You sing a song, and I'll sing a song" with Ella and then played the same songs for the preschoolers I taught in the late 80's. And this was Southern CA, not exactly earthy crunchy land. I'm always amazed with what I think is popular and known all over and what isn't.
I sent Stefan an e-mail too, noting that I believe I remember knowing who she was before I started getting interested in kids' music, but I am not sure if it was when I was in fact a kid. She attends the church that my sister used to attend in Chicago and I may have met her there. Who knows?
