Also on Saturday...and coming up
In addition to the Marty Beller guest DJ set, we'll also be premiering one or two short bits from They Might Be Giants (for whom he is the drummer). We don't yet have the revamped theme song, but we have a couple of short (sub-30-seconds) songs they wrote and recorded for us. So be sure to listen!
I admit that we haven't been listening to a lot of the new music coming in lately, nor have I been linking to as much of the very very cool stuff that's going on around the web. Dena took a new full-time job as the sales and inventory analyst here and so it's been a lot of schedule juggling. Plus I was getting a bunch of visits to my classes for a promotion decision (as of this fall, I'll be associate professor, hooray!), and it's admissions season, which means reading a ton of applications, since I'm on the admissions committee.
Anyway: hopefully things will be slowing down a bit again and the enormous stack of music can get a bit shorter, so you can start hearing more cool new stuff in the show. Happily, we have a lot of great cool old stuff, so even when we're not listening to new CDs, there's still good stuff!
Oh! Also -- it looks likely that we'll be in NYC for the weekend of March 22-25 or thereabouts, probably attending the record release party for the Park Slope Parents CD, which is apparently going to include 15 bands playing. There may be some other stuff we're doing; I'll keep you updated about that. New York listeners, be sure to get in touch and maybe we can meet up.
