Welcome, Knitters
Yes, indeed, welcome visitors from Mason Dixon Knitting. It's always fun to see where links come from, but I had to note this one in particular, since Dena is working on felted boxes from the Mason Dixon Knitting book!

My newest Minnesota Parent column is now up, all about great books & music combinations. My favorite line from the original got edited out; it's the parenthetical here:
ScribbleMonster plays melodic poppy rock that would fit just fine on alt-rock radio, if only alt-rock radio played songs about monsters going “Rrraargh!” and imaginary friends. (Hey, it’d be better, and smarter, than any given Evanescence song.)
Man, December sneaked up on me. This Saturday is Frances England's guest DJ set! And it's pretty awesome, with some songs that might surprise you in the mix. We'll be talking with Frances live (she's calling in from California, which is, if my math is correct, 17.5 hours earlier than here) about her choices and other things.
We'll be off in Arkansas on 12/30. Lucky for you, that means another show with ScribbleMonster guest hosting!
Trout Fishing in America will be playing at the First Night Fayetteville celebration in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on New Year's Eve (when else?). And we'll be visiting the Spare the Rock grandparents (one side, anyway), so we plan to go.
Have I mentioned that you should be listening to and reading Gooney Bird Kids? Based in Atlanta, they have a fun Live365 stream (linked to from their site, featuring a lot of the artists we play plus stories and poems) and regular updates with all sorts of good kids' music information -- tour dates, links around the web, and so on.
The earlier-uploaded archive MP3 was not quite complete. The corrected one is uploading now.

Hey, lookee there! It's the Lovely Mrs. Davis quoted in a NYT story!
It was a delight to have the Frezza family visit the show this morning, and even more fun to watch the Florence parade and have a late morning snack at Cup & Top Cafe with them. I hope you enjoy the show.
...or at least a semi-incredulous post.
Most of the winners have been informed, the essays are up, and you should check all of it out if you haven't already. It is a great bunch of music and an easy source for gift-buying, etc. (And for other, non-time-constrained, gift ideas, go here.
Pictures from the awesome show with Lunch Money and Uncle Rock at Flywheel are here. We had nearly 80 people there (i.e., almost sold out) and we had a ton of fun. If you were there, I hope you did too! Molly from Lunch Money reports: "We sure loved playing at Flywheel. That was the best show of the tour by far thanks to the very cool community you have going there."
Archive is here. There may be a bit in the middle that's missing - turned out we'd plugged the computer into an outlet that wasn't live, so the battery ran out at some point.
Be sure to check out the upcoming events over there on the right. In addition to the Moo Cow folks, we've also scheduled Ginger Hendrix's guest set (which has a surprising appearance by a 1980s hair band) for December 30 and Eric Herman's guest set for January 20.
On December 16, we'll have in-studio the founders of The Moo Cow Fan Club magazine, "the children's magazine both funny and smart." We've been enjoying the weather-themed issue. We look forward to talking with Becky and Ryan about publishing the magazine and about the workshops they've been doing, helping kids create their own magazines. Should be fun.
Morning.
The Lovely Mrs. Davis has a nice interview with Uncle Rock, who will be on the show on November 18, and then will be playing at Cup & Top that morning and opening for Lunch Money that evening. Whoo!
Brand-new-just-mixed music from the Deedle Deedle Dees.

Local performer John Sheldon will be live in-studio this Saturday and playing at Cup & Top afterwards. His description:
Okay, I feel a little silly even typing the phrase "yummy mummy," but there it is. Thanks to Rebecca Brown of the very cool-looking Bunch for the link!
Archive is here. NOTE: It sounds terrible up until about 23 minutes in, which is when I realized I'd forgotten to switch back a setting on my laptop. You might want to skip up until then. The part with Josh Levine and Kenny Kozol in-studio sounds great, and their Cup & Top show was terrific.
Check out the new promo for the Lunch Money/Uncle Rock show here (811K MP3). And, just 'cause it's so cool, behold the glory of the poster again:
...is Josh Levine. We haven't played as much of Josh's disc as I would have liked to (and we'll remedy that, no doubt), but it's a sweet and fun CD. He'll have a percussionist with him, and we're very pleased that he's coming up from Brooklyn to be on the show and play at Cup & Top afterward.
First up, Liam the book:
