Thanks for the great show and fun interview. Can you ask Ella if she will let you publish her haiku?

I see XTC has made the show a few times. I really think that kids might like Wheel and the Maypole. The latter part of the song has such a great hook, my son (in one of those inspired connections that only toddlers can make) sings it whenever we ride on the subway (and he's holding on to a pole...)
Of course, the subtext (or actualy lyrsics) to many of XTC's songs (which understandably are not written as children's music) makes them unsuitable for this ggggreaaat show.

[And as you probably know very well, TMBG does a cover of 25 O'Clock, originally done by XTC side project The Dukes of Stratosphear

Anyways, I thought I was introducing my seven-year-old son to a variety of music, but thanks to you and Ella, I'm exposing him to even a wider array of great music. Thanks for the efforts.

and on a completely juvenile note (because that is where I live)...

are you prepared to SOCK?! With sandals?!

will the running theme never end? I love it. I love Ella. Ya-ha!

Thanks for the suggestion, Tim. I clearly need more XTC. I sure enjoyed playing "Mechanic Dancing" even though it's not really appropriate...

tim: you're bang-on. i, for one, am going to be very very happy if my kids grow up to listen & groove to groups like XTC / the Pixies / DJ Champion / the Violent Femmes, Air etc. (showing my age, aren't i?) and i *might* need a support group if they prefer the likes of Britney Spears instead.

Bill & ella, your show & blog are so instrumental in keeping us informed about what's going on; i just want to go ahead & book all these acts too, get this music out there. to share the podcast with other families around us, while we play a mega-game of Uno or something. (boy-- doesn't *that* sound exciting?!)

That's exactly what we were doing while we listened - except it was 'go fish'. I felt like it was 1945, except for the music (but then there was that Frank). Very old school family time. Nice.

proud to be a dork-princess.
