Wow, that's going to be cool too.
A week from this Saturday, as mentioned before, ScribbleMonster (whose books and music you should have) will be guest DJing for the entire darn show, while we lounge on the beaches of Rhode Island. (Doesn't sound quite as indulgent as "the beaches of Rio" or many other beaches, but oh well.)
Anyway, we just got the pre-recorded show so I can get it to the relvant people at the station to play, and it is excellent. Like Andy's guest set for this Saturday, a ton of stuff we've never played (Sly & the Family Stone, the Figgs, some Sesame Street vinyl (!), Smoking Popes, etc.), plus our standard features -- TMBG to start and end, a "Are you prepared to rock?" set (with a hilarious opening), and all the rest.
If it's not obvious, I am very excited about these guest DJ appearances; I hope y'all like them as much as I do. Please post comments once you hear them. And there are a bunch more very exciting guest DJs coming soon...
(And in the hour before Quiet One Andy's guest set this week, we'll probably have new music from Yosi, Erin Lee & Marci, and others.)

you've got coolness from there to here and back again. We're lucky listeners....
and ps - just be glad you're not vacationing on the frigid summer beaches of san francisco. Just about any beach sounds practically tropical, from here! Enjoy.
Sesame street vinyl! You SOOOO hooked me with that one.
pardon my un-geek-ness. I'd listen if I could figure it out. I don't think i can get a podcast. I have the iTunes application. but not a subscription. also, I have dial-up.
I tried your ValleyFreeRadio link, but the domain has expired.
anyway, sounds like you're doing it right!
(right from the start, when you played "Stay Up Late")
Hi Suzanne,
Indeed, VFR's site is down. Someone forgot to renew the domain name. Oops.
As for listening to the show, you don't need a subscription to anything. If you go to the "Archived show MP3s" link, you'll see the most recent ten shows. If you click on the title of any post, it'll either start downloading or playing the MP3. Now, the MP3s are around 55 MB, so you might get grumpy on a dialup connection. If you don't mind being without your phone line for a while, you can right-click (if Windows) or control-click (if Mac) and go to "Download linked file" or some equivalent, and it will -- eventually -- download the MP3 to your computer so you can listen to it again. Finally, if you click on the "iTunes Podcast Link," iTunes should open up and subscribe you to the podcast -- but that means it'll be trying to download the files and it might start up your internet connection when you don't want to. So that's probably not a great solution for you.
I assume the VFR website will be up soon so you can stream it there, and that's somewhat more doable on a dialup connection -- but it also means only listening from 8 to 10 on Saturday.
I was on the Kidz Bop website the other day to purchase a gift for my nephew, and I noticed that they were going to be playing the entire new CD on the website on July 20th. My girls love singing along with the CDs, so if you need to get away for a few minutes, have them listen to the CD online. You have to register, but it takes only a minute and its completely free. Here’s the website: http://www.kidzbop.com/index.do?tcode=register Enjoy!
