Mllkshake Update

Got this from Lisa from Milkshake:

Here's an update on Milkshake.

Tune in to Noggin this coming Monday, September 26th at 12:30 PM and 4:30 PM to watch "Jack's Big Music Show," featuring the premiere of our video "Bottle of Sunshine." If you miss it, or you don't get satellite/digital cable, or just want to see the video again and again, go to the Noggin website after the air date, and you can view the video by clicking the "Jack's Big Music Show" page: http://www.noggin.com.

Milkshake will also be part of JAMARAMA, a cool music festival for children. Think "Lollapalooza for kids," and you'll understand the idea behind the event. Besides live performances from the Milkshake Band, Laurie Berkner and The Ohmies, the audience will find a Crayola coloring wall, karaoke kiosks, face/hair painting and "tattoo" booth, a Miffy storytelling area, Noggin costumed characters and more. Initial dates include stops in NJ, NYC, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington, DC, in some of the finest rock clubs and theatres. Check our website for details, www.milkshakemusic.com.

Please let us know what you think of the video. And if you really like it and would like to see more Milkshake, please let NOGGIN know by emailing them via the website www.noggin.com. Simply go to the For Parents page, click Contact and scroll down to the contact area to write your thoughts.

Looking forward to visiting Massachussetts soon.

Thanks to Milkshake and hope we can get them to come by the show when they're in the area...

Hooray for Candy Band

...for linking to our little show!

We heart CandyBand.

P.S. We do wish their website rendered better in Safari, though. Looks purty in Firefox, happily.

P.P.S. Oops, their website is temporarily gone. I understand it will return, however.

What's Stuck in Your Head?

We've been listening to all this great music coming in lately, and we can't wait to share it with y'all.

For me, the songs that keep coming back tend to be from Lunch Money and their terrific Silly Reflection CD, in particular "Tricycle" and "Roller Coaster." They alternate with the insanely catchy songs from The Bzots (one of which is the background music for our new promo).

Ella's had Jessica Harper's "Four Boys Named Jordan" in her head for a day or two.

How about you? What's stuck in your head? Post in the comments field -- you have to register, but it's free and easy. Honest.

Spankers Interview

We'll play it during the show on Saturday too, but if you want to hear my interview with Christina Marrs of the Asylum Street Spankers, you can download it here.

They played a couple of the songs that will be on the kids' album (hopefully coming out in the spring), and it's going to be a terrific one, including one about going to bed and one about how everything in the world is made of boogers.

Boogers boogers boogers!

New Archive Links

You can see the three shows we've successfully recorded by downloading the MP3s at these links:

August 13, 2005

August 27, 2005

September 3, 2005 (partial recording)

We'll be on this Saturday with all sorts of good stuff, including, if I get a chance to edit it, an interview with Christina Marrs of the legendary Asylum Street Spankers, who will be releasing a kids' album in the spring.

Kids' Artists for Katrina

I got this from one of the ScribbleMonster guys, but lots of artists we play are involved:

ScribbleMonster & His Pals have joined a group of CD Baby artists (including Daddy-A-Go-Go, Trout Fishing in America, The Tomato Collection, Mitch Friedman, The Thunderlords, Zak Morgan, Monty Harper - there are a couple hundred children's CDs, and thousands in all music categories) in donating all money collected from September disc sales to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund. If people are considering making a donation to the Red Cross, this is an opportunity for them to make a donation, and get some great music at the same time. We've had a few sales already and as a starving artist, it is rewarding to be able to help make a contribution this way.

If interested, people just need to visit cdbaby.com and click on the "For Charity" link on the homepage. This brings up a listing of all the discs donating their purchase price to the Red Cross.

It's a great way to contribute a little more. Please do so.
