This Week's Show

Ella is out of town this week and I will be gone this Saturday, so this week's show is prerecorded by just me. I'm much less interesting without Ella, but there's still some good stuff. For seven days, you can download this week's show here.

Additionally, if you have a podcasting client like iTunes, you can subscribe to a podcast of the show at:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/SpareTheRockPodcast

(Copy that URL and subscribe to it. In iTunes, the subscribe option is under the "Advanced" menu.)

We have this week's and the first week's show up -- last week is lost to the sands of time.

I'll get a playlist for this week's show up eventually. Lot of good stuff, though, let me tell you, including great new music from Brady Rymer and Babaloo.

Thanks for listening, and remember, the over-the-air broadcast is this Saturday from 6 to 8 in the morning on 103.3 FM, Valley Free Radio.

Bill & Ella

Gaaaaaah.

Well, we had a really fun show this morning, playing a lot of new stuff, but the new program I was using to record it promptly crashed when I tried to save it. So, unfortunately, unless I can find the file buried in my laptop somewhere, we won't have an archive of this week's show.

I'll try to get by the studio early next week to get the playlist so we can at least put that up.

Thanks for listening; we'll get these problems worked out...

Possible Schedule Issues

The station is having a bunch of work done this weekend, so it's possible that we won't be on tomorrow morning. I think we will be, but if you tune in and we're not there...well, sorry about that.

Also, I'll be out of town the following Saturday. We may try to pre-record something or it may be someone sitting in.

New Music in the Mail

Got some great stuff in the mail this week.

Milkshake, who we already liked from the "Happy Song" on the CD Baby compilation of kids' music (and which we played last week) is definitely going to get some more play on the show. Both CDs are great; on first listen, I think I like the new one a bit more.

Less well-known, at least to me, is Leonardo and his "Makin' Lemonade" CD. Good stuff, not overly cute, and clearly pays attention to writing songs that are good as songs, not just as kids' songs.

More stuff in the bag to listen to yet, including a bunch of stuff from Smithsonian Folkways and Eric Herman and the Invisible Band...and I haven't been in the studio in a couple of days, so more may have come in the mail.

Hopefully some of these bands will come through the area...

If you have some kid-friendly music, feel free to send it in! Send an e-mail to get details.
