New Music in the Mail

Got some great stuff in the mail this week.

Milkshake, who we already liked from the "Happy Song" on the CD Baby compilation of kids' music (and which we played last week) is definitely going to get some more play on the show. Both CDs are great; on first listen, I think I like the new one a bit more.

Less well-known, at least to me, is Leonardo and his "Makin' Lemonade" CD. Good stuff, not overly cute, and clearly pays attention to writing songs that are good as songs, not just as kids' songs.

More stuff in the bag to listen to yet, including a bunch of stuff from Smithsonian Folkways and Eric Herman and the Invisible Band...and I haven't been in the studio in a couple of days, so more may have come in the mail.

Hopefully some of these bands will come through the area...
